　　霍尔顿一家四口生活幸福，美满无比，周围的朋友和邻居都羡慕不已。然而，天有不测风云，霍尔顿太太的儿子遭到不幸而过世，这样事情就像突如其来的暴风雨始料未及。还没有在丧子之痛中清醒过来的霍尔顿太太又突然被几个陌生人劫持绑架，把她抓到了一个封闭的密室中，而在其中的还有个与她同病相怜的男孩。此时，霍尔顿太太发现事情的严重性，她决定和男孩一起逃出密室。整个逃跑的过程中，两人遇到了一些麻烦，而男孩也被枪杀。当霍尔顿太太找到家人，并报警希望可以找到疑犯时，警方却告诉她并没有任何所谓的密室，只是一些集装箱而已，这些疑犯并不存在。她陷入沉思并疑惑不解，直到她发现事情的真相……
