◎简 介
两名高等法院的法官遭杀手谋杀，法学院高材生达比（朱莉娅•罗伯茨 Julia Roberts 饰）随后开始调查此案，起草一份该案的报告，名为《塘鹅报告》。达比找到了记者格兰（丹泽尔•华盛顿 Denzel Washington 饰），因为他是最后一名见到其中一名法官的人，希望能得到他的帮助调查此案。一天格兰接到了一个神秘人来电，此人自称知道谁是该案凶手，格兰跟踪到了此人，可惜未能拦下他。 此时，总统暗中命令相关人士不要插手此案。格兰由此起疑，随后调查到了总统和马氏集团关系密切，而且一切证据都表明，马氏与两位法官的死有着千丝万缕的关系！
