◎简 介
三村新之丞（木村拓哉 饰）是名平凡的下级武士，他的工作是帮藩主试毒，备好的饭菜先由试毒者吃，确认没有不良反应后才会给主人吃。就在一次试毒中，新之丞双目失明，失去眼睛无异于废人，他的命运急转而下，幸而美貌贤惠的妻子加世（檀丽 饰）帮助下，他才重新面对生活。 但三村一家由此失去 了生活来源，在亲友建议下，为了维持生计，加世拜托上级武士岛田藤弥（坂东三津五郎 饰）向藩主求情，希望能保住一半薪俸。可岛田以新之丞的薪俸为要挟，强迫加世委身于他。新之丞得知后，无法接受事实，休掉了妻子并决定和岛田决一死战，挽回比生命更加宝贵的武士尊严。
