　　86年的电视连续剧《缓慢燃烧》（slow burn），这部作品出人意料仅只是一部平庸的东东。与其说是depp的早期作品，不若说是标志曾大放异彩的演员爱立克 罗伯茨低迷时期而留存人们记忆中的作品。

　　《缓慢燃烧》以阿瑟 雷恩斯的正统的惊悚小说《灰烬之城》为原本，depp饰演被绑架后遭残杀的百万富翁的儿子。罗伯茨饰演曾是新闻报道记者的私家侦探。不出意料的剧情冲突中很难说鲜明地刻画了人物形象。也不是很差劲也不能说是了不起的作品，进一步说，就像乡村货车影院同时上映的两部片中的第二部那样的B级电影。

　　对depp而言，能和崇拜的罗伯茨一起演出，非常的开心。“他的《恶之花-激情》是留在我心底的一部特别的电影。”depp说。

　　罗伯茨在《吉普赛之王》展露头角之后，接连出演了《恶之花-激情》，《星光80》，《暴走机动车》等出色的电影。但自从和国税局起纠纷之后，他的演员生涯开始狂乱脱轨，只做些B级电影和录像带电影这样立即杀青的电视节目。80年代前半，傲飞的鸟突然以无法抑制之势坠落，现在仅仅作为朱丽叶罗伯茨的哥哥为人所知。
