◎简　　介

　　影片以好莱坞为背景，讲述了一对大导演父子的故事。丹尼·赫斯顿饰演的杰克哈塞尔是受人尊敬的A级大导演。在离开好莱坞多年之后，他重新回到了这里，为一部新电影找投资。他在生活中酗酒无度，夜夜笙歌，在牌桌上一掷千金。但也正是这样豪放的个性才让这位大导演如此受人喜爱。今年之后，他的儿子小约翰·哈塞尔(杰克休斯顿饰演，他也是现实中丹尼·休斯顿的儿子，好莱坞传奇导演约翰·休斯顿是他的祖父)同样来到了好莱坞，试图拍摄自己的导演处女作。名字都叫做杰克的父子二人性格大不相同，小杰克·哈塞尔能够维护父亲留下来的“名声”么？
