　　影片讲述两位兄弟在阿拉斯加淘金，并同时喜欢上一个女孩的故事。乔治派克（斯图尔特·格兰杰饰）想娶一位远在西雅图的珍妮（凯瑟琳·弗莱明饰），便委托山姆（约翰·韦恩饰）替他接回珍妮，乔在家看守。谁知珍妮已经嫁人了，山姆气愤之时饮酒买醉认识了美丽的安琪（卡波辛妮饰），当山姆把安琪带回家时，安琪已经暗暗喜欢上了这个粗汉，而乔治却也渐渐地喜欢上了安琪，山姆不知怎么说，因为他怕人笑话他而说不出口。
