　　《教母》将讲述格里赛达·布兰科传奇而血腥的一生。上世纪70年代初期，布兰科使用私人飞机，将哥伦比亚的可卡因运送到美国纽约，并成为黑手党五大家族最大的毒品供应者，是令美国缉毒警察相当头痛的人物。除了毒品交易中背负200多条人命，她前后两任丈夫也都死在她的手上。

　　1985年布兰科在美国佛罗里达落网，当时贩卖毒品的收入让她成为世界最富有的女人。服刑19年后，布兰科被遣返回哥伦比亚，从此销声匿迹。2012年9月，她在肉店买肉时，以她最熟悉的方式倒在杀手枪下，结束了传奇人生。

　　她的4个儿子中2人因与黑社会关联死于枪下，1人在美国监狱服刑，最小的则患有精神障碍。据报道，布兰科是黑手党题材电影《教父》的粉丝，她曾以主演阿尔·帕西诺在影片中饰演的迈克·柯里昂给她的一个儿子起名字。
